One of our main desires as humans is to live a happy and fulfilled life. There will be good and bad days but life is what you make it . The energy that you put into your day to day living is what you will receive in return. These are seven simple rules that I’ve found to be effective for me in having a better quality of life.
We live in a society in which we choose our own destiny. This means that we are responsible for our own happiness and we have the ability to change most situations. There’s someone, somewhere that would be grateful for the life you’re living so be thankful and appreciate all that you have.
I was taught growing up that it’s better to give than to receive and this is something I’ve carried with me my entire life. Giving freely of “things” to those less fortunate is wonderful but you can also be giving of your time. Whether helping out homeless shelters, hospitals or even a neighbor, nothing will beat the feeling of giving.
Don’t Be Jealous Or Envious
Nothing is more attractive than genuine confidence that you have for yourself. Don’t compare yourself or life to others rather focus on all that you have been blessed with. You never know the struggles someone may have endured to get to where they are in life.
Invest In Your Health
Get serious about your health by adapting to better eating habits and exercise. If you find a workout you enjoy doing, chances are you’ll stick with it. Take the stairs instead of the elevator and drink lots of water. Stay current with your doctor visits and take care of your mind, body and soul.
Don’t Let Fear Hold You Back
Go for your goals no matter how young or old you are. Don’t be afraid to try new things because this could potentially lead to a better quality of life. Get excited about living and step out on faith and remember… “nothing beats a failure but a try.”
Learn to take time for “you” and indulge in the things that you love. Take time to watch your favorite movie, enjoy a bubble bath and just make time to pamper yourself. Learn to love and care for every part of you…daily.
It’s important to remain confident and proud of your accomplishments or what you have in life. However, it’s equally important to remember what you went through to get where you are and most importantly never forget where you came from.
“Life is like a camera…Focus on what’s important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot.”
