Someone had plans for this day that didn’t live to see it. Each morning you should wake with a grateful spirit and with a thankful heart. Are you suffering the loss of a loved one, an illness, financial burdens or does the weight of the world have you down? Well know this…someone in this very moment is dealing with something far worse.
This is not to take away from your tribulations by any means because we all are dealing with and fighting something. However, when you think of those that are suffering more than you could imagine, the realization sets in that you have a great deal to be thankful for.
Each morning before my feet hit the ground I give thanks to God for keeping me another day. I give thanks for my kids and husband, for our home, for the coffee I’m about to enjoy, for employment and for being of sound mind despite all of what I’ve been through.
Yes I lost my daughter and have suffered many hardships in life. Then I think…there are parents out there that have lost more than one child, or people sleeping on the streets because they lost a job and has no family.
Going through life with no hardships is the inevitable. It’s how we persevere through the difficult times that determines the quality of life we will have. Your thoughts and what you speak over your life will bring just that into existence.
After losing my daughter, my constant thoughts were, “I can’t make it without her”, “I can’t get out of bed”, “I can’t go back to work”. Do you see the pattern of “I CAN’T” at the start of each statement? Those very thoughts had me stuck for a very long time. Once I realized that so many were depending on me and that there was still a life that I had to live it changed my thought process and this is when things began to get better.
“I will make it through”, “I will push myself to get up and get out” and “I will prevail over all the trials placed before me”. Positivity is what fuels my life and the reason in which I am so thankful.
“It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy”. Set the tone for each day for thinking of all the things you are most thankful for. You would be amazed how quickly that list increases.
Choose happiness, be grateful, be THANKFUL!
