Losing weight can oftentimes be one of the hardest tasks we are faced with.  It seems that all the food and drinks that we love are the ones that can harm us the most.  I really enjoy food but as I’ve gotten a little older have become more mindful of what I put into my body. Over the years I have managed to maintain the same exact weight while losing inches and even dropped a dress size. Here are a few of the best ways to lose weight that I find works best for me.

Walking

This is an almost effortless form of exercise and at the top of my list for the best way to lose weight.  There’s nothing like going for a nice walk outside on a beautiful day.  I’ve even started taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator. During breaks I take walks throughout the building for the added steps because every little bit counts.  It’s also quite a few “walking for exercise” videos that can be found on YouTube for days the weather may not permit to be outdoors. Add small dumbbells and leg weights for toning and muscle strengthening.

Swapping Out Foods
Program yourself to not put such an emphasis on “dieting” so that you don’t feel you are denying yourself.  Rather swap out snacks such as chips, cookies and candy for more healthier options such as fruit and protein bars. Find healthy recipes that contain more vegetables and incorporate this into your daily eating habits. Juicing with fruits and vegetables have also been effective for me and quite filling as well.

Remove “Working Out” From Your Vocabulary

I don’t know about you but I cringe each time I use the phrase “work out”.  It seems to be something that not many of us look forward to doing. Being a wife, mom, blogger and having a full time job seems to be a work out in itself so I stick with things that I don’t mind doing. From riding a bike, mowing the lawn, washing the car, swimming or even dancing throughout your home as you prepare dinner will burn calories.

I’m sure that you’ve heard the saying that “weight is easy to put on but hard to get off.”  Being healthy and fit should be a lifestyle rather a trend and taking care of yourself should be top priority. it’s time to put on your walking shoes, trash those sugary snacks/drinks for a healthier alternative and get serious about your health. “Be active…be healthy…be happy.”
