Once you are hit by something traumatic in life, whether it’s the death of a loved one or illness, joining a cause associated can help in the process of healing. Often times, if uncertain, your Doctor can provide you with this information to put in the right direction.
I also found a lot of support groups on Facebook, in my case it was those for parents that had lost children by suicide but there are so many that are available. These groups have been extremely helpful because these were people that knew exactly what I was feeling and going through.
Get involved in volunteering in your community, maybe shelters or churches to provide help for those less fortunate as a way to give back. I walk each year for “Out of the Darkness” and also raise money throughout the year for this organization.
This gives me something to look forward to and it feels good to be a part of something where people actually know my pain because they are going through it too.
